Congrats to Eman on Completing Her Lawrenz Lab Internship

JULY 26, 2024

Eman was recognized by Dean Bumpous and Associate Dean Clark for her successful completion of the Louisville Science Pathways high school summer research internship . During her internship, Eman worked with Taylor to generate a novel bioreporter to sense when bacteria encounter the host nutritional immunity protein calprotectin and zinc limitation. Eman will continue her research on nutritional immunity in the Lawrenz Lab during her senior year of high school.

Louisville Science Pathways is a summer research internship program for high school students from Jefferson County. Its goals are to promote science education by connecting UofL research with the Louisville community and to introduce high school students to career paths in scientific research. LSP was developed and is managed by UofL graduate students - in fact, this year our very own Katelyn was the co-director. For more info about LSP, click here.
